What does accreditation and reception of diplomats mean?
Accreditation means that a government accepts a new ambassador from a new government of another nation. The reception of a diplomat means that a government acknowledges a new diplomat from another country. An example of accreditation would be the accreditation of the new French ambassador in Berlin after the Franco-Prussian War. An example of reception would be when an ambassador is replaced and the country where the embassy is located acknowledges the new ambassador.
