What does AAA NAID Certified mean?
NAID is the National Association for Information Destruction. Anyone in the shredding industry can be a NAID member. A certified member must go through a stringent process, pass an audit and inspection at their place of business and pay fees in addition to the standard cost of membership. To be AAA NAID Certified a company must go through an audit and inspection where a third party security professional hired by NAID goes to the applicant’s location and inspects their policies, procedures and equipment to verify that they are in compliance with the AAA NAID Certified guidelines. Once a company has been AAA NAID Certified the company is then subject to random inspections and audits at both the facility and in the field to insure compliance.
