What does a zip disk do?
A ZIP disk is a small portable storage medium, either 100 MB or 250MB depending on formatting. Its from the Iomega company. For a few years in the late 1990s, almost every computer you bought would have one of these. with the advent of thumb drives, cd/dvd burners, cheap portable drives… the ZIP disk has fallen out of use for the most part. It was magnetic media, but not technically a floppy disk because the disk inside was quite rigid, much like a hard drive.
