Bring non descript clothing that you can hand wash and air dry. It will be very hot in the day and fairly warm at night. You will need to have a sleeved garment with you if you plan on visiting a lot of cathedrals. You do not want your clothing to announce that you are American. This can target you for the thieves. The Italians and Spaniards are both wonderful fun loving friendly people. Have a wonderful time, the food is incredibly delicious. In fact I haven’t had a decent meal since I left Florence in 2006, lol.
