What does a wetland delineation involve?
There are a wide range of scales of wetland delineations. The simplest projects may only involve a few hundred square feet of surveying, while major projects can involve a variety of wetland types covering many acres. For each wetland, upland and wetland test plots are characterized in detail, and then the boundary between the two areas is delineated within the area of interest. Wetland flags are hung along the boundary line, to provide survey points and to allow local Conservation Commissions or NHDES Wetlands Bureau staff to review the delineation, if desired. Depending on the level of detail required, Blackwater Environmental Design can perform a rough survey for simple projects; however, BED cannot perform surveying which requires a NH-Licensed Land Surveyor.
