What Does a USGA Agronomist Do to His Home Lawn?

Until this moment, I have never told anyone about my home lawn and what I do to it. Well, I’ve decided that I’m ready to answer this big question and tell it all after all these years. First, my home lawn does not look like a golf course fairway turf. My lawn turf is centipede, something no golfer would ever want to have as a fairway turf since it has practically no recuperative ability from traffic injury. Luckily, my twin daughters play organized soccer and basketball, so they do not spend much time running around the lawn. The lawn always has a few weeds and fairy rings, and several nice bare areas in shaded areas. For the most part, turf coverage is good, especially when you hear about my annual maintenance program.
