Firstly getting right qualifications (English Maths Biology Sociology etc) to qualify for training to become a Registered Nurse. In addition best to have some kind of experience EG Care assistant in field… Hosp /Nursing Home etc. Once Registered apply for post in A/E (will have done stint as part of training). Let them know you are interested when you qualify and if they think your suited they will keep you in mind. Then if successful you will start on basic salary grade while completing A/E course subjects (if you choose & want to stay). Then have to continue to keep updated by completing the required no of study hours every 3-5 years to remain on the UKCC register along with the fees. Have to have good medical & nursing knowledge as well as problem solving skills in addition to hard worker. Be prepared to go without dinner break sometimes. Never arrive late on duty/ go home late after night shift/ stay late after evening shift / All with no extra pay. Work over Bank Holidays, Chris
