5 minutes: getting acquainted 5 minutes: planning 15 minutes: academic work 10 minutes: creative play 15 minutes: academic work 10 minutes:fun May Members Of Other Churches Mentor With A Different Church? No. People are sometimes amazed that we say “no” to this unusual request. They need to understand that we are not creating the equivalent of a community agency that draws volunteers from here, there, and everywhere. Rather, we are giving the church the capacity to develop and sustain life-changing relationships with its neighbors. Significantly, we are finding that KIDS HOPE USA churches can recruit and retain more volunteers per capita than some community-wide organizations. The reason is that the church is a family of people who have a shared value structure and belief system. They want to make a contribution under the auspices of the organization to which they feel the most loyalty-their church.
