What does a typical camp day look like?
Each camp is unique, and staff work from a program plan specific to that camp. Typically, camp mornings begin with an opening circle, during which campers engage in a warm-up activity and get to know each other. Various activities are planned that reinforce the theme of the camp and the day’s concepts. These activities take place both inside the museum and in the park. Some camps have field trips/overnights/campouts that are a very special part of camp. All activities are supervised and may be structured to be completed by the camper individually or in small groups. Throughout the camp session, time is devoted for personal reflection and observation. The camp day ends with a closing circle in which campers share a highlight of the day and learn important information regarding the next day in camp. Snack time is provided for the half-day campers (you need to provide the snack) and a lunch time provided for the full-day campers (you need to provide the lunch).
