What does a “trans fat free” claim mean?
The FDA does not have a final definition for “trans fat free,” but has proposed that a product can be labeled “trans fat free” if it contains less than 0.5 grams of trans fat and less than 0.5 grams of saturated fat per serving. All products on our site that make the “trans fat free” claim meet this FDA proposal. For more information, check out the trans fat nutrition labeling area on the FDA website: http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/qatrans2.
