What does a teacher of students with visual impairment do?
He or she instructs and provides support services to enable blind and visually impaired students to participate in the least restrictive environment in which they are capable of learning. Teachers work not only with visually impaired students and their families, but with school personnel, most often as an itinerant or resource room teacher. Both teachers and Orientation and Mobility (O&M) instructors work with students in the expanded core curriculum areas.
