What does a student need to connect to the Internet?

0

A student must have a computer with an ethernet network connection, which is can be verified by looking for a port on usually located on the rear of a computer. The port looks similar to a phone connection but is larger. The network card is sometimes referred to as a Local Area Network (LAN) card. To connect the card to our network a student will need an ethernet network cable. The cable usually needs to be about 5′ to 7′ in length but may need to be longer depending on how far the computer will be from the network jack in the student’s room. For wireless connectivity the student will need a computer with a compatible wireless network card. Additional software requirements must be met as outlined in the Software section. For more information about connecting to our network please visit the page about Internet Access.
