What does a Ski Club rep do?
Ski Club reps are volunteers. As such you get your accommodation, lift pass, food and insurance plus a travel and resort allowance while you’re repping. In return you are responsible for organising a 6-day ski programme each week plus a daily social hour, sending daily snow reports and completing weekly paperwork. [See a sample programme from last year.] What about training? All prospective reps have to take the Ski Club reps’ course, which is run every year in Tignes. The Course is designed as an introduction to mountaincraft and ski leadership, it is run by qualified BASI trainers and IFMGA mountain guides and it is designed to give a thorough grounding in mountaincraft awareness and to ensure your skiing and leadership skills are of the highest standard. The Reps’ Course runs in early December, which incorporates our Performance (technique) Clinic in the first three days of the couse.
