Not all naturally occurring phenomenon are to be interpreted as omens. A red cardinal following you from room to room is one such occurrence. More likely than not the bird is simply trying to let you know the bird feeders are empty. It is amazing how fast some of nature’s creatures figure out the corollary of people and food. If you are new to this home, and do not normally feed the birds, you may have “inherited” cardinals who are used to the previous people feeding them and as we have difficulty knowing one male cardinal from another, they may not realise you aren’t the same person who used to fill their feeders.
