What does a person regressed from the learner stage have to do?
• A novice driver or rider that is regressed from the learner stage becomes ineligible to hold another learner licence for a period of three months. • Before being re-issued with another learner licence, a novice driver must re-sit the driver knowledge test, and a novice rider must re-do the pre-learner training course and driver knowledge test. • All of the relevant licence and test fees must be paid again. • From April 2009, a novice driver regressed from the L1 stage will be ineligible to hold another learner licence for a period of three months and must re-sit the driver knowledge test to be eligible to be re-issued with an L1 licence. • A person regressed from the L2 stage to the L1 stage will be required to hold an L1 licence for at least 28 days and re-sit the first practical driving test before being eligible to be re-issued with an L2 licence.
