What Does a Nuclear Medicine Technician Do?
Nuclear Medicine Technicians (NMTs) use radioactive materials to diagnose and treat diseases under the supervision of a physician. The main job of a Nuclear Medicine Technician is to prepare radiopharmaceuticals, administer them to patients and use imaging devices to record the drugs’ interactions with the patients’ bodies. Many Nuclear Medicine Technicians have an interest in science and obtain their education through nuclear medicine technology certificate or degree programs.
