What does a Mental Health Nurse do?
My gf does adult nursing, just graduated. There isnt really much difference between the both, except that mental nurses emphasise on the pyschology of patients with mental illnesses. So, after you graduate you will be looking for jobs within the mentall illness wards of hospitals (unless you decide to become a community mental nurse). They will specifically ask for a mental health nurse. I can take a guess and say your day-to-day duties will be assessing patients pyschological abilities to decide if medical intervention is required or not, assessing patient safety taking into consideration of their mental illness, and aiding patient recovery with mental illnesses.
