What does a Homeroom Teacher do for seniors?
For each senior the homeroom teacher is there to encourage and lend support to keep the student focused and on track for graduation. Homeroom teachers work in conjunction with our college advisor and the senior’s other teachers, write up to five college recommendation letters and assist the senior in the preparation of his or her college application essay. Maintaining monthly contact, a senior and homeroom teacher build a close relationship and at the senior’s Laurel Springs formal graduation ceremony the homeroom teacher will provide a reflection on the student’s academic and personal experiences—a rewarding graduation experience for student, teacher and family members.
