What does a giant sequoia look like?
It is a coniferous (grows cones) tree. How it looks depends on the age. In Sequoia National Park, California there is a Sequoia tree named the General Sherman. It is the most massive living thing in the world. It is 275 feet tall, 36.5 feet wide. It is estimated to be 2500 years old. Young Sequoias are tightly pyramid shaped. Old ones lose there lower branches and the foliage is more seperated and the trunk is the most prominant feature.
