What does a Gates Cambridge Scholarship cover?
In general, the Gates Cambridge Scholarship covers the full cost of studying at Cambridge. The total amount of the award will vary depending on the applicants home country, number of dependants, and other factors. The list of expenses covered is as follows: • The University Composition Fee and College fees at the appropriate rate (these are paid directly to your College). • A maintenance allowance for a single student (12,500 for 12 months at the 2009-10 rate; pro rata for courses shorter then 12 months). This is to cover room, board, food and other living costs.
