For the first day you really do not need much mainly just a notebook and pencil/pens. You will need a backpack for your books. If you can get your books ahead of time that way you don’t have to deal with long lines and what not. Your professor should have a syllabus of everything you need to know for that class (supplies, when papers and tests are due/occur, etc.) You don’t need a binder really, a folder works better as it is a lot lighter. Some professors do not like you having a laptop as they find most people are watching you tube instead of listening to their lectures, if you want to use yours ask them first before bringing to class. However you really do not need to bring one. If you can not write fast enough most professors now-a-days have their power points online— or at least my college does. Good luck!
