What does a Credit Card Generator do?
A credit card generator attempts to generate a card number that is close enough to a genuine number to be accepted. It does so by using the first eight digits which identify the card issuing company and bank, and randomizing the other eight digits. Fortunately it’s redundant nowadays, as credit cards also come with a CVF or checksum printed on the back, which directly references the issue number of the bank account. Without the CVF there are very few merchants that you can use the 16 digit code with. In addition, most major credit card companies also now require additional information, such as the date of birth of the cardholder, which must match their own records before a transaction will authorise. In short, credit card generators worked once upon a time, but banks don’t like to be ripped off.
