What does a Connexions Personal Adviser do?
Personal Advisers (PAs) are based in schools, colleges, youth clubs and information centres across Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton. There are many different types of PAs, but they are all skilled in working with young people to assess their situation and move forward, planning what their next step might be. A PA based in a college may see many hundreds of students a year for careers advice, whereas others will focus on one-to-one support for those with personal concerns, seeing perhaps 50 or 60 young people during the year.
