What does a body control module do on a 2001 Chevy Camaro Z28?

I highly doubt that the body control module is bad. The body control module usually controls things like, lights, wipers, windows, heater, etc. I’m assuming the engine doesn’t even begin to turn when you turn the switch? Does everything else work like lights, horn, etc? Assuming that this car uses a side post battery like most GM cars, I would take the cables off the battery and clean the cable ends with a small wire brush as well as the terminals on the battery. Put it back together and try it. Alot of times with side post batteries that are dirty it will have a good enough connection to run accessories such as the horn, radio, etc, but not have a well enough connection to turn the engine over.
