What does a biomedical scientist do?

Hey, I am currently in my third year of a Biomedical Science degree, with my third year spent working in a hospital laboratory before I return to uni to complete my final year. The main areas are Histology, Microbiology, Haematology and Clinical Chemistry. I know you said you are interested in Immunology, but my advice would be to keep your options open until you have spent some time studying the different areas and gaining some work experience. Before my job placement I was sure I wanted to work in Histology or Microbiology, but the reality of working in these departments didn’t appeal to me and I found I enjoyed Haematology more. Although I am currently only a trainee, I have found the job very interesting as long as you apply yourself.
