What does $199 pro rata mean?
My understanding of this has two different possible interpretations, one which is better for you than the other! First the better *potential* answer, and that is if you cancel prior to the expiry of 12months, you just pay $199, and that is it. This is the optimistic angle! The second potential answer (which is properly applying the business Latin expression ‘pro rata’ ) is that if you wanted to cancel prior to the expiry of 12months, you would have to pay $199 AND ALSO the proportion of $350 left from your contract. So say you decided to cancel after just two months, you would have to pay $291.66, as ten-twelfths of the annual contact cost), so that would be 490 dollars and 66 cents. This is the pessimistic angle, you will agree!
