Students need three documents in order to enter the U.S. to study at Stanford: • a valid passport; • a certificate of eligibility for an F-1 or J-1 visa (an I-20 or DS-2019, respectively), • an F-1 or J-1 visa stamp (students from Canada do not need a visa stamp, but should enter with a passport). In addition we encourage you to carry with you your letter of admission and proof of funding.
