What documents are required for my marriage to be legally recognised?

If you want legal recognition of you marriage you will need to be married either through the Catholic Church or the Civil Registry. The former option is easier if you are not already a resident in Spain. You require: • Birth Certificates • Baptismal Certificates • Pre-marriage course certificate In some cases you may also need your Confirmation Certificates, but this is rare. It takes about 4 months and we will guide you through the whole process. If you want to get married through the Civil Registry here in Spain you need to have registered for residency a last two years prior to the wedding date AND have been a resident for 40 consecutive days before applying for a marriage licence.
