What documents are needed to open a UK bank account?
You will need to bring the following items with you to open an account: • Your passport/photo ID card • Evidence of student status – your unconditional offer, with details of the course and dates. • Evidence of overseas home address – on any official documentation, such as bank statement, ID card (with translation if possible). • A bank letter from the University (Graduate Office or Academic Office, not your academic department) confirming your registration, your home address in the UK and your overseas address – and the fact that the University has corresponded with you at your overseas address. • Evidence of financial status – reference or letter of introduction from your bank.
