Depending on your states requirements, all you will need to get married is his birth certificate, and an ID of some sort; his consulate card, or his passport. This will not make the process of getting him legal any easier so don’t think that it will. After you marry you need to start the process as soon as possible to try and see if you can apply for a visa, he will have to go back home. I am not sure for how long, but it can be for quite a while. My friend is a newly wed, and living without her husband while they wait on the paperwork. Good Luck.
