To reduce the work involved in completing a recognition application, applicants have been asked to include course/programme documentation instead of describing this in detail in their answers. Acceptable documentation will be a course programmes, syllabus, code of practice etc but not commentaries specifically written to support a recognition application. All documentation should be in hard copy form and included with the application. URL references to information on university websites are not acceptable. Applicants can refer to websites to illustrate how information is made available but Subject Area Panels are under no obligation to look at this. Documentation should be the most up to date available and if possible reflect programmes that ESRC funded students will be following when the new recognition results come into force in 2006.
