What document numbering system does ISO9 utilize?
Numbering systems for Quality Management Systems vary. All quality manuals created using the ISO9 application are generated with a unique numbering application used solely for traceability and historical purposes. Because the ISO9 application is completely integrated, it is not necessary for the documents created on our application to follow a level-department-clause numbering application. The unique numbering application used by ISO9 cannot be altered to match any company s existing QMS, regardless of whether the QMS will be created within ISO9 or uploaded to the ISO9 application. If your company uses some combination of level-department-clause, then put this “number” in the title field on each document. You will then get the best of both worlds: ISO9 numbering and your company s own internal number.
