‘Nessum Dorma’ when he sang this in the world cup, i have no idea what the songs about ,but if translated in english,i think it could be about the death of someone, sorry if im worng, but when i first heard him sing this, and not being into opera music, this really gripped me to the point of tears in my eyes, this man, put so much emotion into his singing and sung with all his heart and soul, the shear power in this guys voice will never ever be able to capture that again, theres only one pavarottie and allways will be, his music will go on for ever as one of the best tenner soloists in history. RIP pavarotti your be very much missed by the nation of opera lovers.

I just watched the BBC documentary tribute to him tonight, and HE says…his greatest moment was the very first time he sang for the public on stage–and he held up the pamphlet for the opera in 1961…………if I recall correctly it was La Boheme. If I am wrong, then I’m sure someone who watched it will correct me!!

his greatest moment was when he opened his mouth and sang, he was he has gone down as the greatest tenor ever and has set the standard for all others his songs are classics already and i don’t think anyone can beat him for talent, may he rest in peace, he may be gone but he has left us with a very special gift in his Cd’s, and this is coming from someone who is not a great lover of classical music, no one can beat the feelings his music brings, some still send shivers down my spine

In re-introducing opera to the masses, through “Nessun Dorma” from Turandot, this must rank amongst the greatest. But as a tenor probably when he hit the nine high Cs in the main aria of “La Fille du Regiment” alongside Dame Joan Sutherland, at the New York Metropolitan and earning a record 17 curtain calls must be up there.
