What do you think the future holds for old school punk and rock oll?
More watered down, unimaginative, shamelessly derivative rehash. I dunno man, I don’t listen to that stuff, the tribute bands. I’m looking for some new voices, new ideas, real songwriters. Originals. All these “old school”-derivative, dress-up punk bands are useless to me. Who wants to hear more fifth-generation impersonators, with nothing of their own to say, acting-out somebody else’s messages with no soul or essence? I can go to the source. Myself, I’m working on a new project called FALLEN SINGERS, more stripped down, a lot of piano. Kind of like, these fucked up torch songs. Like the Beasts Of Bourbon’s slow croon stuff, or Johnny Thunders “Hurt Me” , or if Chris Isaak couldn’t sing pretty. I just gotta find the right people. I really need Clem Burke to play drums.
