What do you think of the push to raise the legal drinking age to 21 for alcohol?
In the States the drinking age has been 21 through out the country for about 25 years. Today there is a push to lower the dricking age in some states. The reason is that is a Teen can serve as a solder he/she should be allowed to buy a drink. I have no preference either way. I tend to think In the US we try to control other peoples behavior to much any way.
There are political reasons here in the U.S. for the drinking age to be 21. Our highways are federally funded but states will only receive those funds if the state’s legal drinking age is no less than 21. Looking at it from a health perspective it is a smart idea. The temporal Lobe doesn’t fully develop until around the age of 27. The temporal lobe pretty much controls behavior that is considered impulsive.
