What do you think of the new Ferrari 430 scuderia?
LOVE IT Taking its name from Ferrari’s racing division, the Scuderia weighs 100kg less than the standard F430, meaning it should tip the scales at 1335kg ‘wet’ (i.e. with fluids). With its normally aspirated 4308cc V8 now putting out 503bhp at 8500rpm (up 20bhp on the standard car, which achieves its peak power at the same revs), the result will be a power-to-weight figure of 383bhp per ton – that’s 10bhp per ton up on Lamborghini’s Gallardo Superleggera and 14 higher than Porsche’s recently announced 911 GT2. Also new for the Scuderia is the latest ‘Super-fast’ software for the F1 paddle-shift gearbox, cutting gear-change times to a mere 60 milliseconds, and a new traction control system that integrates the 430’s E-diff electronic differential with the F1-Track traction and stability control system.
