What do you think of the 2008 honda accord v6 automatic engine?

I really like the coupe………… do you think that the variable engine (it uses 3, 4, or 6 cylinders depending on workload) will be as reliable in its first year of production or should we all wait until the 2009 models come out. A: Not sure anyone’s answered your specific question yet…and it’s a good question…time will tell if there’s a reliability issue. BTW, we drive 2 Honda & 1 Acura product…big Honda fans here; Honda builds robust engines. It’s hard to say how this ‘variable cylinder management’ (aka VCM) engine will work out compared to their norm of full-time-firing cylinder designs. Honda did offer a VCM engine (3.0L V6, J30) in their last Accord…the hybrid model. I haven’t heard of any problems with that engine. You might do some Internet searches to see if that’s true. However, VCM does add mechanical complexity on top of the VTEC design. RE VCM, I do know that Cadillac had problems with their first VCM design years ago, but I’m assuming newer versions are OK. You
