What do you think of Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan returning to St James Park?
I am surprised, I must admit. Not that they wanted him as manager, but that he chose to accept the job again. His first spell as manager at Newcastle was something of a golden age for the club, and historically going back and trying to recreate such a period is almost impossible. I don’t think he will be able to achieve anything more than getting Newcastle into 7th or 8th in the league, and will that be enough for the over-demanding fans of that club? Probably not. I just feel that he is risking his legacy at the club by going back for a second shot, which is why I am surprised by his choice, but I wish him well. I bumped into him in B&Q (a DIY store) a couple of times while he was managing Manchester City, he seems a likeable man and I hope he doesn’t come to regret it.
