I have to say I have mixed feelings about it (and not just because the line about cherry Chapstick bugs me). On the one hand, I’m all for putting same sex issues front and center. I think there’s a lot to be said for experimentation, and I love the fact that thousands of kids are walking around with ringtones about a girl kissing another girl. On the other hand, there is something about the way Perry sings about this issue that gets to me.
