What do you think are the good points of the Grand National Horse Races?
In my opinion, there are no “good” points. These races are grueling and dangerous for both horse and rider and that’s apparent when you only have 18 horses finish out of a field of 40 when its all said and done (what happened to the other 22 horses?). Not any safer today than it was 20 yrs ago. I think it’s time to throw the “tradition” out the window and get into the real world of horse racing. A race of 4.5 miles with 30 fences to jump is asking a helluva lot of a horse, not to mention the dangers involved. Sorry, but that’s my humble opinion!
