What do you think are some realistic performance indicators/key measurements for community and economic development?
This was selected as Best Answer I think that community and economic development services have at least a few key metrics that apply over time regardless of the specific program. I would track trends in: 1. Employment within the community 2. Property crime rates 3. Recidevism rates for juvenile offenders 4. Business startups and closings 5. Domestic violence 6. Permits for new buildings and renovations 7. Cycle times for service clients to complete programs There are probably others that don’t t leap to mind, but I picked these for a reason. Property crime, juvenile recidevism, and domestic violence are all indicators of general social and economic stagnation or decline. The others are all positive social indicators.
