The Act of the Settlement of 1701 knowingly passed over more than 50 people who had stronger blood claims to the throne, but were Catholic. So it is a given that some of these people would have descendants today. ————— The Act unilaterally declared that James II had abdicated when he left the country and fled to France. However, James II never said he abdicated and his son, and grandson pursued the claim. That bloodline can be traced and will eventually lead to the young boy who will become the Prince of Liechtenstein.
