What do you suggest be used for weatherblocker for my high profile MonierLifetile roof?
The most common material used for weatherblocking is mortar although there are a number of other products that have been developed for that purpose in recent years. There is a synthetic mortar called Flexim that works quite well in severe climate areas and there are preformed plastic pieces called Solite that work well where a solid seal is not required. MonierLifetile has a product called Figaroll that is a combination weatherblock and vent material. Figarol comes in a roll form that has an adhesive strip at opposing edges and a fleece material at the apex that allows ventilation at the ridge. I would like to collect rain water for general use of our roof. Are your Duralite Villa tiles suitable for this kind of application? Is there any toxic materials mixed into the concrete of the tile or used for the glazing? In checking with our environmental department, they have responded that there is no risk in using catchment water for general domestic use. I am planning to re-roof using Ceda
