What do you need to do to be accepted to Harvard Medical School?
One of my friends requested a research position with a harvard professor, the research performed was non medical related. The objective was not to apply directly to the school as the majority of students do, but to apply to Harvard from within, while working on a harvard project, with the aid of a professor with tenure and influence. There is more than one way to skin a cat. Be creative if you think you are good enough.
