“Well, what’s great is that these songs have been around for 50 years and they still sound new every time someone sings them. Everybody’s got their own opinions and emotions (to add) to these songs, and I put my own emotions and thoughts and feelings into them…I perform them ‘My Way’ as opposed to Westlife’s way or anybody else’s way.” How was it recording at Capitol studios in LA, where Frank Sinatra created some of his most memorable records? “It was incredible. You’re completely surrounded by legends – there are all these platinum selling artists on the walls – and you do feel quite privileged. I was there for two days, and oh my god, I’ve never experienced anything like that in my life. No matter how many pictures I took, the memories are going to last for a lifetime in my head.
