What do yall think about year round school?

Some of the elementary schools in our system are year round schools. They go for 9 weeks, then get a 3 week break. I think it is an excellent idea. They are given a little longer break over the summer, but not three months. The school year ends in late May/early June, but starts back in early August/late July. This works better for the younger grades because it makes it difficult for high school students to have a summer job. I don’t know of a high school that has used this program, so I’m not sure about drop out rates. I don’t think they would increase because you have more breaks to look forward to. During the three week breaks students could be tutored in subjects where they need help.
