What do whales, dolphins and other mammals that live in the sea do for drinking water?

I don’t think they need to as their skin absorbs water and when they eat and breathe they take in water. However, there are two types of fish there are saltwater and freshwater as i’m sure you already know but both of these have different methods for obtaining water: Osmosis and diffusion, osmosis is the movement of a liquid through a membrane froma lower to a higher concentrate. Diffusion is the opposite. Saltwater fish have to drink water becuse of the enviroment they live in is more salty then their bodily fluids however the freshwater fish don’t need to because it is reversed. I hope this answers you question.

They don’t drink sea water as like us they would find it too salty, they get water from their food and many have ways of excreting excess salt.
