What Do Weeds Have To Do With Fire Prevention?

0

Weeds do not help with conservation of our native or indigenous plant species. Many noxious or environmental weeds burn fiercely. Controlling weeds significantly reduces fuel loads and therefore reduces the intensity and severity of a bushfire. Council’s Local Law No 8 restricts the burning of heaps larger than 2 cubic metres and any fire that is likely to cause a nuisance to neighbours or traffic. Burning off is not permitted on smog alert days and during Declared Fire Danger Period.
