What do validly baptised Protestants need to undergo before entering the Catholic faith?

For those validly Baptised, the only Sacraments of Initiation remaining are Confirmation and First Holy Communion. Before they can be received, however, those already validly baptised must Sacramentally Confess. There might be other impediments as well such as irregular marital status to consider. If one is divorced and remarried for instance, this will have to be cleared up before the Sacraments can be received Validly baptised Protestants who wish to become Catholic join the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) program as Candidates. Those not yet baptised are Catechumens. Parishes vary on the length of their RCIA programs. Mine, in Houston, back in 1980 started in September and ended at Easter Vigil the next April, a good 8 months. There were 4 of us Catechumens and 28 Candidates. During this time, you learn about the Catholic faith. You can ask questions and get clarification if you have issues about anything. If you are interested, contact the parish nearest you and ask
