What do UUs believe about Jesus?
He appears to us as a great teacher, rather than as a member of the Trinity. We believe the accumulated evidence shows that Jesus did not think of himself as a Savior, or that he regarded himself as a person in a Trinity, although during the last days of his life, he may have come to think he was the Jewish messiah. It is the ethics of Jesus, rather than the doctrines about him, that are attractive to us. UUs believe there are many intellectual and spiritual leaders from whom they can learn and take inspiration.
